Welcome to our second update to you our valued sponsors and welcome also to FMG and Brian Green Property Group who have joined our Gold sponsor family.
Since our last report in February good progress has been made and we can report that;
Fencing Wrap noting “Coming Soon” mini golf facility has been installed recognising all major construction partners
All ground preparation and drainage work has been completed – a big effort
Boxing for all but the 15th & 18th hole has been completed and 13 holes have had concrete poured
Paving edges have commenced being laid
Foundation and boxing for the Kiosk has been done with this scheduled to be poured any day (subject to weather). Several club working bees have been undertaken contributing to readiness.
This will be followed by framing for the Kiosk which will then be a buzz of activity as various trades apply their skill to construction and fit out.
We have a time -lapse camera installed so go to our website to view (click here) and also like us on Facebook.
A big and unforeseen challenge was getting power to the site which has now been completed albeit having to stretch the budget
Ongoing supply and logistics issues caused by Covid have had their expected impacts which have pushed timelines back and we have had to re cast an opening date (which was to be July School holidays) to now a mid- September target date. This would enable some testing prior to the following School holidays.
While construction is in progress we have ordered/purchased all necessary fit out items and golfing equipment and are confident that we are well placed to present a quality facility to the community of Palmerston North City
Financially the project is proceeding well and we remain on target to open in a debt free position. With some unforeseen costs this has only been possible by the generous support of both our sponsors and the many contributing tradespersons and organisations providing products on favourable terms
While there is still much to do, we are also looking at “opening” activities and promotion and will provide further details in our subsequent updates.
If there is any specific information you would like to update you on, please ask.
